Minor Hurling

The Minor team advanced to the semi-final of the Championship beating Tullaroan 3-19 to 3-12 last Saturday. The lads were on top right from the throw in and had a 13 point lead at one stage. They were well on their way by half-time after dominant displays all over the field gave the forwards a good supply of ball to keep the scores flowing. Tullaroan stepped up the intensity after the break but the boys from Slieverue weren't going to give up easily. The half back line played really well to keep the opposition at bay and although the forwards had less ball in the second half they still kept the scoreboard ticking over and Tullaroan never looked like coming close despite a couple of late goals. Well done to all involved and we look forward now to the semi-final against Conahy Shamrocks, which is scheduled for 4.30pm in Danesfort this Saturday 14th October.

Camogie Final

St Claires took on Mooncoin last Sunday in the Junior B County final but, alas, were unable to get the win that their performances throughout the year deserved. Mooncoin started well with an early goal setting them on their way. St Claires are a young team and Mooncoin seemed to have that bit more experience all over the pitch. It was a disappointing result but this team have a very bright future ahead of them and have achieved so much in their first year together. I'm sure there will be many more finals in the years to come. Enjoy your well-earned rest and we will see you all again next year.

U9 Blitz

The u9 team competed in the Johnny Ryan Memorial Blitz last Saturday in Kilmacow. They played matches against Kilmacow, Piltown and Mullinavat. The competition was tough and the results didn't always go their way but it was great to see everyone putting in a big effort on the pitch. Well done to all the players, parents and mentors for all the hard work during the year. There will be training one day a week over the next couple of months so keep an eye out for the details.

Help Needed

There's a huge amount of work and administration that goes on behind the scenes and we need people with lots of different skills and talents to lend a hand. The Club will be what we can make of it!

Please contact Seamus Murtagh on 086-6036136 if you want to help out in any way. Let's showcase what we can do!
